Technology for Seniors- Freedom Alert Emergency Response System

Duprey Home Automation is pleased to announce a new relationship with Logic Mark,  makers of the Freedom Alert – The World’s smallest 2-way voice emergency pendant communicator.

Duprey Home Automation is an authorized reseller / installer for the potentially life saving line of products.

Logic Mark makes the freedom alert system.  A communications pendant that allows the wearer to make and receive calls from wherever they are in the case of an emergency.   What sets freedom alert apart is that there are NO MONTHLY MONITORING FEES!  That’s right,  no hidden or monthly fees.  Freedom Alert has 4 numbers programmed into it at all times,  the first 3 can be family, friends, neighbors or assisted living staff (among others).  In the case if an emergency simply by pressing the button the system dials the first number on the list.  If that person is not available, it continues to go down the listSignal reaches several hundred feet of numbers until it reaches someone.  If it can’t reach any of the top 3 user programmed numbers, then it calls 911.   This system greatly helps to reduce false alarm calls to 911- saving money in penalty fees.

The minature pendant allows the user to quickly contact Friends & Family at the push of a button.  The FreedomAlert product has a suggested retail price of $299.95.

Freedom Alert PendantWe have installed units for customers in the Brevard County area with success. Customers were extremely happy with the device.  If you or a family member could benifit from having the ability to communicate instantly with family, a caretaker or 911 in case of an emergency, contact Duprey Home Automation Today.

Technology Can Help Seniors Stay in Their Homes

“Aging In Place” technology is hardware and software that allows senior citizens to stay in their homes as opposed to entering assisted living facilities. We will be offering all kinds of new technology that helps seniors maintain their independence, communicate with their family and doctors, be safe and secure, control their homes and be able to contact help when needed.

We will be announcing a new website soon and we are working with other organizations that help seniors “age in place”.

Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

Monitor Your Energy Usage with the Smart Home Energy Display and iMeter Solo.

Today I was excited to get the new Smart Home catalog.  I love thumbing through the pages and checking out the new toys.  I was excited to see the new energy monitoring device and display.  At first.

The New Smart Home Catalog April '11

I have been waiting for Smart Labs to come out with an Energy Detective (TED) type device that is natively Insteon compatible. Something that I could just plug into my Insteon network and it would just work.  There are some devices out there for energy monitoring, but I haven’t been thrilled with what I have read so far.  I have had several conversations with customers about monitoring their energy usage as a way to both save money and be “green”. I think if people knew how much that lamp, for example, cost them to leave on all day, they would be more willing to turn it off. Read more
